In Australia, we have a massive problem with medical ‘truth’. As citizens, we are owed the truth by organizations and governments that supposedly are meant to look out for our well-being. The 6minute Newsletter has been a very Bad Puppy. Pooper-scooper needed!

Well, I thought we were making progress with Puppy but sadly, it appears, no such luck! The Puppy has left quite a pile on the linoleum. Yesterday the Newsletter carried a glowing report about the new wonder drug Empagliflozin, which it called the ‘Holy Grail.’ The puppy enthusiastically tail-wagged at the thought of a drug that would reduce rates of hospitalisation for heart failure by 35%, deaths from cardiovascular disease by 38% and ALL CAUSE MORTALITY by 32%. Puppy, sit! GOOD puppy! 6Minutes Newsletter becoming disciplined?

Today, to my astonishment the unruly and normally not too discerning puppy, the 6Minutes Newsletter behaved well. Progress in training perhaps? The newsletter reported on a study from the UK that blasted cardiologists and GPs and other healthcare institutions for the terrible dietary advice that has been shoved down the public’s throat these last 30 odd years. You know, wholesome indigestible grains, skim milk, lots of fruit and vegetable oils.  All the stuff that made us obese and diabetic. The ‘experts’ in the field paid…

Calorie counters have it all wrong: cardiologists
