Medical Orthodoxy and Medical Oversight Organizations- A Catastrophe for Australians, Men in Particular.

Australia was once a place where the medical community brought in new ideas from all over the world and in the 70’s we could say we were as advanced a nation in Medicine as say, the United States were. Today that is no longer the case. Indeed, China is beating us on many fronts. Medicine is now a business with a huge impact on the economy. It is guarded carefully to ensure that this business functions to make large profits for the Drug and Agri…

The Promotion of Rodent Diets to Australian Diabetics. A new low in Down Under Health Care

If you are a long living human in Australia, free of disease and a truck load of daily medications, you are unique and an escapee. Your exit planned or accidental from the entrapment of medical and dietary practices that are the ‘norm’ in Australia, probably spared you an earlier death. Absurd professional advice such as that from the Univeristy of Sydney’s infamous ‘Rodent Diet’ leaves one gasping because it is the very diet causing many of the Diseases of the Modern Era. Before promoting this…

The Puppy is now chasing its tail –and is biting it! What does one do..? The 6minute Newsletter is really losing it!

In Australia, we have a massive problem with medical ‘truth’. As citizens, we are owed the truth by organizations and governments that supposedly are meant to look out for our well-being. For all practical purposes they don’t. Vested interests have such a stranglehold on heart, diabetes, and nutrition based organizations, for example, that any information that appears on the scene that is contrary to the dogma of these organizations is derided, and the people who present the contrary information are labeled as ‘killers, charlatans, deniers.’…

The 6minute Newsletter has been a very Bad Puppy. Pooper-scooper needed!

Well, I thought we were making progress with Puppy but sadly, it appears, no such luck! The Puppy has left quite a pile on the linoleum. Yesterday the Newsletter carried a glowing report about the new wonder drug Empagliflozin, which it called the ‘Holy Grail.’ The puppy enthusiastically tail-wagged at the thought of a drug that would reduce rates of hospitalisation for heart failure by 35%, deaths from cardiovascular disease by 38% and ALL CAUSE MORTALITY by 32%. Can you imagine this?  Its clinical significance…

Puppy, sit! GOOD puppy! 6Minutes Newsletter becoming disciplined?

Today, to my astonishment the unruly and normally not too discerning puppy, the 6Minutes Newsletter behaved well. Progress in training perhaps? The newsletter reported on a study from the UK that blasted cardiologists and GPs and other healthcare institutions for the terrible dietary advice that has been shoved down the public’s throat these last 30 odd years. You know, wholesome indigestible grains, skim milk, lots of fruit and vegetable oils.  All the stuff that made us obese and diabetic. The ‘experts’ in the field paid…

Calorie counters have it all wrong: cardiologists

Source:  6 Minutes An obsession with calories at the expense of good nutrition is contributing to the world obesity problem, says a  group of UK cardiologists and epidemiologists in a hard-hitting journal article. They blame the food and weight loss industries for this and say that unless the emphasis shifts obesity and death from cardiovascular disease will continue to rise. They also criticise GPs and specialists for failing to give evidence-based advice that nutritional content that matters. “Primary and secondary care clinicians clearly…

The Medical Journal of Australia’s badly trained puppy has left a puddle on the carpet

Yesterday, the 6minutes Newsletter, a mouthpiece for the Medical Journal of Australia and a supposed source of reliable information for Australian doctors, published an exceptionally substandard article on hormone replacement therapy for women. It is so riddled with errors, it is hard to know where to start the criticism. Here’s the link: http://www.6minutes.com.au/news/latest-news/safe-therapies-underused-in-menopausal-women Let me begin by saying that The 6minutes Newsletter publishes material that seems to have no one in charge filtering the substantive parts of the information database they mine from the accompanying…

Newscorp rivaling Fairfax for stupid reporting on Paleo diets: and that’s difficult to do!

IN Australia, there is a concerted effort on behalf of food manufacturers to stop any references to healthy eating from reaching the public. The Paleo diet is under attack by ignorami who have no understanding whatsoever of the natural human diet that we evolved on. For over two million years modern humans have eaten a certain way: that is, until the last few centuries but particularly in the last 50 years. That way was called Paleo. Forget the variations of Paleo for the moment: it is…
