Fairfax Media, Scientific Corruption and More Medical Lies

Today, ‘The Age‘ published a piece about the dangers of global warming and what it will do to our food, or in this case a non-food food, known colloquially as ‘bread.’

Researchers grew wheat under normal atmospheric CO2 concentrations and a comparative lot in a higher CO2 environment. The elevated CO2 caused the wheat to grow faster but the protein content was a little different than the wheat grown in normal atmospheric conditions. The article does not say exactly how or what was altered but my guess it was gluten as the bread made from the higher concentration of CO2 grown wheat was not as pliable and did not rise as much. Now, if bread were actually healthy and should be consumed by humans, then a lower gluten level would be welcome but since the GMO bread we eat is toxic, and shouldn’t be eaten by humans in any event, this ‘study’ would not normally deserve a second look: but it does, because it highlights the breadth (ahem) of the corrupt research that has become the standard modus operandi for health research.

The agenda was not about health -it hardly ever is- but about a research group making news and attracting more funding to do even more irrelevant studies, while at the same time, advancing another agenda called Climate Change. Fairfax Media is leading the charge in Australia on Global Warming. Why? Well, it always gets down to money and who is being bought for what but it certainly has nothing to do with science.

To make this point very clear, look at this statement, made by the editor of one of the most prestigious journal in the medical world.

A shocking admission by the editor of the world’s most respected medical journal, The Lancet, has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. Dr. Richard Horton, Editor-in-chief of the Lancet recently published a statement declaring that a shocking amount of published research is unreliable at best, if not completely false, as in, fraudulent.

Horton declared, ‘Much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.’

Dr. Marcia Angell is a physician and was longtime Editor-in-Chief of the New England Medical Journal, considered to be another one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals in the world. Angell stated,

‘It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of the New England Journal of Medicine.’

Fairfax Media and the ridiculous study just published are precisely what the editors are talking about. We are in sad times, indeed, where the media is as corrupt as the industries that support it. I cover more on this topic in my book, ‘Chasing Antelopes.’
